Good lighting can make the difference between falling and staying on your feet.  Make sure your stairs are well light; have light switches at the top and bottom of your stairs.

    Boy, you aren’t kidding! We just moved into a new rental and love it! But we had to go through and add brighter lightbulbs throughout to make sure there was enough light for my senior mom, not to mention myself! It really does make an important difference!
