People with visual deficits do well with high color contrast. Cooking is a perfect example of an activity where high color contrast is needed. Someone with visual deficits may not be able to clearly see to measure sugar or flour in a white measuring cup. Instead, they would do best with measuring something white, like flour in a black or red measuring cup, where they can easily identify and distinguish the content from the cup.
